Welcome to the east coast...

In case you haven't noticed lately, the weather sucks. But Tuckerman is starting to fill in nicely. Too bad this little rain event is going to create an avalanche haven up there until the layers get themselves glued back together properly. Hopefully by Jan. we will be able to get up there and take some real chances.

My skiing x-mas wish list...

1. Consistently cold weather

2. More snow...like 20" per week for the rest of the winter.

3. Goggles that won't scratch no matter how many times you have to wipe the frozen crud off them.

4. To have a "No stupid people that can't get on a detachable, high speed quad or bad skiers" lift at every resort in the US. The rest of the world can suffer.

5. Create "experts only aka, no idiots, zones" at abovementioned resorts where it is frowned upon to ski slow and push snow.

6. To have every one-piece suit, fluorescent colored jacket and ear band burned and then ban there use at, again, abovementioned resorts.

7. To round up every local newscaster that complains about the cold weather and make them spend a night on Mt. Washington in only their wet undergarments.

8. And finally, have government create laws making it illegal for employers to make people show up to work when 6 or more inches of snow have fallen somewhere with a 50 mile radius of the workplace.

If anyone could help me out with any of these, I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks...

PS...an iPod would be sweet as well.

December rain is nothing to worry about. It is the brutally cold temperatures that follow the rain that have him kinda nervous.

Ok...so maybe I was a little harsh on the kid.

And maybe I should have read the forecast more closely before I went spouting off about the snow melting away by Wed. Oh, it is still going to melt, but it won't be completely wiped out until Thur. So the stupid kid can go roll around in it for an extra day or so before he starts crying to his equally stupid mom about how Santa won't be able to land his sled on the roof without adequate snow cover and christmas will be ruined and there will be no presents and everyone will be sad...

Shut up kid and have a monchhichi.

Don't get your hopes up kid...

because by Wed. night all this beautiful snow will disappear and your dreams of a white christmas will be washed away with the melting snow. Oh, and by the way, there is no Santa.

Besides that, the skiing this weekend was a huge improvement over what the areas had provided thus far. It is amazing what a week of cold air can produce.
